(Sing Me a Mountain)
I am a stay at home wife. I enjoy writing poetry, reading, crafting, crocheting, doll making, cooking and baking, visiting family and friends. I enjoy playing games, scrabble, Skip-Bo, both of which I love playing with my sister and niece, but also on my laptop.
My father was a Pastor for as long as I remember, until his very last years when he suffered from dementia. My husband and I cared for him for the last 6 years of his life on this earth, in the mountains of West Virginia.
My mother and father were wonderful Christians and parents and we had a great childhood, my two sisters, one brother and myself.
I gave my heart to God at the early age of 10, and have never regretted a minute of my close walk with God. Through many mistakes, blunders and tests, God has never given up on me and has never failed.
A poem I share with you, as you will see in my poetry, that Autumn has my heart! My very favorite season of all.
The photo is one I took not far from our home, here in the hills of Kentucky. I love covered bridges, and when I spotted this one on the way to my nieces home, I had to stop and have a quick photo shoot. Amateur photography is another passion of mine!
Hot Cocoa Autumn
Leaves, gone with the wind...
The chill in the air brought goosebumps from years gone by much too quickly.
Dark skies puckered up and scowled at the wickedly delicious rain that hung by a thread, as the clouds did somersaults on this scrumptious, eerie October afternoon.
It was a hot cocoa Autumn...
the kind that left you breathless in the beauty of it all...
the burnt spices, burgundy, gold and wine, with a smattering of crispy, crackly browns...
quite brittle in their thoughts.
The softest cozy throws, woolen socks and hoodies, to envelope us in the most wonderful time of the year!
Hot cocoa, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pies, and pumpkin Lattes...magazines, candles burning with the memories of Home, sweet home...the fragrance of a love that lingers warmly in the nooks and crannies of our hearts, from the home where we belonged, with loving parents we thought would be with us forever. Now, lingering in our hearts alone.
Autumn, sweet hot cocoa Autumn...
I await your entrance with a smile on my face and in my heart...
Hot cocoa Autumn!
I love you so...
